The Brief

Finning Group (UK), the UK dealership for Caterpillar, introduced their Extra Mile Award Scheme to recognise specific instances of exceptional customer service and outstanding individual commitment. Where employees were seen to go that 'extra mile', the company aimed to recognise and reward them with a gift that stood outside any performance related pay or sales/targeted bonuses.

Goal

Finning Group (UK) were keen to keep it simple and most importantly have a process where the company could quickly react to any exceptional behaviour that warranted recognition.

What Was Done

Finning Group (UK) contacted Red Letter Days because of the range of experiences and gifts available, their reputation in the marketplace. From our initial meeting we were impressed that the Red Letter Team were able to send out the rewards directly to management presenting the Extra Mile awards, making it a fast and slick process for anyone wanting to quickly reward exceptional behaviour.
